For more than 35 years, legions of fans have tuned in to Garrison Keillor's A Prairie Home Companion to be entertained by his low-key reflections, sharp insights, and trademark humor. Each week, A Prairie Home Companion is heard by more than 4 million listeners of every age, on more than 600 public radio stations across the country. The show is performed live on stage in front of an audience. There has been plenty of adventure in the past 30-plus years, including broadcasts from Canada, Ireland, Scotland, England, Germany, Iceland, and almost every one of the 50 states. And there have been wonderful guest performers, little-known and world-renowned, who've brought the audience to their feet.
In a first for the show, on Thursday, February 4th, 2010, a performance of A Prairie Home Companion at the Fitzgerald Theater in St. Paul, Minnesota, will be broadcast live in high-definition to the Cape Cinema. This special two-hour presentation begins at 8 p.m. An encore of the program will run on Tuesday, February 9th, 2010. Tickets are on sale December 11 at participating theaters.
