The costumes are gorgeous; the music is The Rite of Spring in this story of an affair in 1920 between the legendary couturier and the brilliant composer. Based on the novel by Chris Greenhalgh, the film sumptuously creates 1920s' France and the sexually charged episode in the lives of two of the 20th century's most iconic figures. Less a dual biopic, it's more a fleeting impression of two cultural revolutionaries which allows its viewers to speculate on the lasting impact on the pair's lives.
